The Paleo Kitchen: Finding Joy in Modern Primal Cooking

If you’ve been following my blog, classes and cookbooks you already know that healthy and delicious grain-free, gluten-free, dairy-free (or dairy optional), paleo, primal, low-sugar and sugar-free, naturally sweetened recipes can taste utterly delicious! Maybe you already have a repertoire of favorite recipes but you want something more.

If you’re like me, you want new tastes, textures, and eating experiences. You want variety–– new ideas, new twists on familiar dishes, creative ways to use some of the foods you already enjoy. If this sounds like what you’re looking for, I have another great cookbook to recommend: The Paleo Kitchen: Finding Joy in Modern Primal Cooking by Juli Bauer & George Bryant  (Victory Belt Publishing, 2014).

It’s a lovely book with gorgeous book with a user-friendly design and layout, helpful lists and side notes, thumbnail pictures of each recipe with the page number, appealing illustrations, enticing food photos (taken by one of the authors) that will make you want to start planning what you want to make from it. Whether you follow a moderate or low-carb diet, you will find plenty of recipes to draw you into the kitchen and draw your family and/or friends to the table.

You’ll find recipes for dishes that will remind you of dishes you grew up eating (or ate before changing your diet) and inspiring new ways to use familiar foods in novel ways, from eye-popping curries, cakes, and cinnamon rolls to scrumptious-looking sweet and savory soups, salads, and sauces as well as smoothies.

So far I’ve tried the Bacon-Pecan Cabbage, the Avocado Mousse, Coconut Butter, and Pistachio Pesto. I still want to try the garlic Aioli, Perfect Ribs, and Creamy Cauliflower Soups as well as several other recipes.

You’ll find simple and easy recipes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in The Paleo Kitchen: Finding Joy in Modern Primal Cooking along with fancier weekend menus. It would make a great addition to any whole foods, paleo, primal, grain free, gluten free, dairy free cookbook collection.

I will post a photo and recipe from the book in the next few days–––once I get a good shot!

      Hi April,

      There are so many paleo blogs out there now and so many new books! I have a whole stack of books to read, cook from and review. I find it exciting and fun! Of course it is also a trick to juggle this with everything else I do!
